Washington Ferret Rescue & Shelter

Let’s talk numbers! As of March 20, 2007, the Washington Ferret Rescue & Shelter is currently housing 63 ferrets on-site at its facility, has 6 ferrets in temporary homes and has 69 in permanent foster care. This year, to date, the Washington Ferret Rescue & Shelter has received 40 ferrets, has adopted 38 ferrets and has placed 6 in permanent foster care. Our goal is always to reach 100 placements each year, and we’ve never failed. It looks like we’re off to a great start again this year!

Each ferret that WFRS receives is vaccinated against Rabies and Canine Distemper prior to adoption. The money received from The Ferret Depot's grant program has allowed us to not only vaccinate all of our incoming ferrets but will assure that foster animals healthy enough for vaccinations will receive their annual vaccines as well. Having funds dedicated toward providing vaccinations to all of our charges frees up a portion of the shelter's over-stretched budget to dedicate toward paying our never-ending vet bill. Thank you Ferret Depot!
