Midwest Rabbit Rescue & Re-home

Dear Rabbit Stop,

We are thrilled that we've been chosen to receive a Rabbit Stop Grant! Thank you very much for supporting our Spay/Neuter Program. The clinic that performs our spays and neuters recently increased their fees, so the grant could not have come at a better time.

We currently have eight baby angora/lop mixes (six males and two females) who are just now ready to spay and neuter. Your generous grant will cover the cost of their procedures. This will help us enormously towards catching up on a "backlog" of spays and neuters.

Once caught up, each and every rabbit will be fixed immediately upon entering the rescue. In addition to the usual reasons to spay and neuter, we believe that sterilizing the rabbits immediately upon intake has a significant impact on averting potential health problems, facilitating adoptions, and reducing stress on the rabbits and their caretakers, while the rabbits are still in rescue.

Our mission is fivefold; it encompasses rescue, adoption, health, education, and fiscal responsibility. Part of our mission is "to ensure that each rescued rabbit is spayed or neutered, health permitting." The Rabbit Stop Grant helps us fulfill this part of our mission, for which we are truly grateful.

We have created an educational brochure for new adopters and the general public about the benefits of spaying and neutering. We have included an acknowledgement of Rabbit Stop's role in our Spay/Neuter Program in the brochure, as well as on our website , and will include an acknowledgement in our upcoming Winter Newsletter as well.

Again, thank you, Rabbit Stop! We will send updates and photos so that you can see how your generosity has helped our rabbits through the Spay/Neuter Fund!

Sincerely,

Jill Pernicano
Board President
