Happy rabbits and ferrets are coming to Heartland Humane Society, being spayed and neutered and finding new homes. The generosity of Ferretdepot.com and Rabbitstop.com has allowed us to make this happen. . Since January 1 we have cared for 18 rabbits and 3 ferrets. All have been spayed and neutered. Seven animals have been adopted, 4 rabbits and 3 ferrets have found new homes. Our promise to Ferretdepot. Com and Rabbitstop.com was to spay and neuter 67 animals this year and as we approach the 1/3 mark, 21 animals have had the surgeries. We expect that the numbers will increase in the spring and summer.

Two of our favorite rabbits are Vincent, brought to us missing an ear and Missy. Vincent is a character. (See photos). Vincent loves to play and burrow in newspaper in his hutch. Missy is sweet and shy. The staff here at Heartland Humane Society enjoys socializing the rabbits and ferrets. Benton County supports Heartland Humane Society rabbit and ferret program and adopts most of the animals that are surrendered to us. Ferrets are adopted so quickly that at the present time we have no ferrets in our care.
